Disney's Animal Kingdom Park Map

At Walt Disney World® Resort’s Animal Kingdom® in Orlando, the natural world takes center stage in vibrant, magical ways. Launched on Earth Day in 1998, Disney’s zoological theme park invites you to explore amazingly diverse environments in all their glory, including Asian jungles, Himalayan peaks and African savannas — not to mention otherworldly vistas — without ever stepping foot outside of Orlando.

Indeed, one of the best reasons to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom isn’t found on Earth at all, but rather on Pandora — The World of Avatar. Based on James Cameron’s blockbuster Avatar motion picture and its forthcoming sequels, this expansive land features two of the park’s most popular attractions — Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey — as well as immersive attention designed to transport you from the world you know to places of which you’ve only previously dreamed.

Once you’ve returned from your visit to the stars, Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a lot more for you to discover, starting with the land closest to the park’s entrance, Oasis. Here, you can embark on a wide range of self-guided tours at Oasis Exhibits, where barking deer, wild boars, giant anteaters and other exotic fauna will compete to see which can amaze you the most.

More self-guided tours await at Discovery Island and Africa, with the latter also featuring one of the best reasons to come to Orlando: Kilimanjaro Safaris, now available in daytime and nighttime editions. These areas also have a lot of fun for kids, such as Discovery Island’s It’s Tough to Be a Bug attraction and Rafiki’s Planet Watch in Africa.

Younger guests will also have a blast at TriceraTop Spin and The Boneyard, both located at DinoLand U.S.A. This prehistoric section isn’t all kids’ stuff, though, as DINOSAUR provides plenty of action for hardier thrill-seekers.

Next, chart a course to Animal Kingdom’s Asia section, where the mighty Abominable Snowman lurks atop Expedition Everest — Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. Also in this area, white-water rafting meets white-knuckle excitement aboard Kali River Rapids, and another self-guided tour beckons at Maharajah Jungle Trek.

Last but not least, keep in mind that Disney’s Animal Kingdom shines in exciting new ways once the sun goes down — literally. Not only do Pandora’s bioluminescent forests glow, but the park’s central icon — the mighty Tree of Life — comes to dazzling life as the animal spirits within arise for a mesmerizing show of color and light. Between the parks’ attractions, nightly events, special character and animal encounters, and other fantastic features, it’s easy to spend a day or more exploring Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
